Mechanical Operations ManagerRoad & Rail Services is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead daily operations at our Greensburg, Indiana facility. We are looking for a hands-on leader who can manage employees, maintain high safety standards, solve operational challenges, and keep production running efficiently.This position requires more than supervising from an office. Our ideal candidate is comfortable being involved in daily operations, making decisions, holding employees accountable, and working directly with their team to achieve results.If you have experience managing teams in manufacturing, automotive logistics, transportation, railroad operations, warehousing, or industrial environments, we encourage you to apply.What You'll Be Responsible ForOperations ManagementDirect daily site activities to meet customer expectations, production goals, and quality standards.Coordinate staffing, workloads, and operational priorities to maximize efficiency.Identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions.Monitor productivity, service quality, and overall site performance.Ensure employees follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs).Employee Leadership & DevelopmentSupervise, coach, and develop employees to build a productive, accountable workforce.Address attendance, performance, and workplace conduct concerns promptly and professionally.Participate in hiring, training, disciplinary decisions, and employee evaluations.Establish clear performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback.Promote teamwork, communication, and a positive work environment.Safety & ComplianceMaintain a strong safety culture by enforcing company policies and customer requirements.Conduct routine inspections, safety audits, and operational assessments.Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, FRA, DOT, and industry regulations.Investigate safety concerns, identify potential hazards, and implement corrective actions.Ensure employees receive appropriate training and follow safe work practices.Continuous ImprovementEvaluate existing processes to identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.Develop solutions to reduce operational delays and improve workflow.Maintain accurate operational documentation, reports, and performance records.Communicate regularly with company leadership regarding site performance, staffing, and operational needs.What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications:Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience.Experience leading employees in a fast-paced operational environment.Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing operational demands.Experience addressing employee performance, attendance, and accountability.Strong communication and organizational skills.Valid driver's license.Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business requirements.Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience in railroad, automotive, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial operations.Mechanical or diesel mechanical knowledge.Familiarity with equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, or repair operations.Experience conducting safety inspections and improving operational processes.What We OfferAt Road & Rail Services, we believe strong leadership is essential to our success.
